Cedar Care Homes are looking for an enthusiastic member of staff to join the team at The Lodge at Oakhill intermediate care facility in Westbury-on-Trym, Bristol. The rehabilitation lodge is a luxurious 14-bed facility with grand panoramic views of the city, extensive landscaped gardens which has been renovated in the style of an elegant Mediterranean hotel. The Lodge provides a hotel like experience for a range of guests from the age of 18 years and upwards, that require residential post-operative, convalescent, reablement or rehabilitation care or for those who want to enjoy respite care while their loved ones or carers are away. The services we provide are not just about helping our clients physically, but attend equally to their care, leisure, mind and body.
Hours of work
- Full time: 30 hours per week
- Part-time:18 hours per week
- 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Salary: Dependant on experience
As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you are responsible for undertaking, comprehensive occupational therapy, initial, on-going, home and discharge assessments, evidence based interventions and measuring outcomes. You are an integral part of the multi-disciplinary team, which includes physiotherapists and rehabilitation assistants, to deliver high intensity rehabilitation programmes within the lodge to all patients.
You will have responsibility for organising the Rehabilitation Support Workers to carry out tasks to assist guests complete their therapy program set out by yourself and the Physiotherapist. The post holder must be HCPC Registered and have a relevant and up to date CPD folder
In performing in the role, you will be expected to observe the requirements of the Care Quality Commission (CQC) Guidelines, the College of Occupational Therapists (COT) Code of Ethics, which are addressed within the policies, procedures and processes developed by the company.
We are ideally seeking a Senior Occupational Therapist, with at least 5 years post-qualification experience of working with people who present a variety of needs arising from occupational dysfunction, including stroke and neurological conditions. This position would be ideal for an Occupational Therapist who has experience of managing staff, works well as an autonomous practitioner, is an excellent team player and possesses strong and confident communication skills.
