It is mostly for a care package based on your assessed needs. This expense also includes accommodation, meals, normal laundry services, heating as well as other utility costs. Additional fees may apply for non-standard care home services such as specialized medical or nursing care, chiropody, hairdressing, toiletries, installation of telephone services or premium TV packages, transport and escort for appointments, etc.
Local authorities determine the value to set for a Personal Budget in several ways, one of which is based on the price a local authority can purchase similar care for locally to meet the needs of the individual. This is usually below the cost of providing care. Accepting rates at less than the actual cost is not sustainable, so we balance this out with higher costs quoted to private paying clients. However we work in partnership with local authorities as they provide a high volume of referrals giving a steady business that is regularly paid.
We are a family run business where we put our Residents, and their well-being first. We aim to preserve that important personal touch as well as offer high standards of care and a stable, safe environment. We understand that moving into a care home can be a difficult choice to make with the worry of losing one’s independence and sense of control. We do everything we can to ease that worry for our Residents and their families. So we listen to what people say, adapt constantly and improve what we do.
