It is mostly for a care package based on your assessed needs. This expense also includes accommodation, meals, normal laundry services, heating as well as other utility costs. Additional fees may apply for non-standard care home services such as specialized medical or nursing care, chiropody, hairdressing, toiletries, installation of telephone services or premium TV packages, transport and escort for appointments, etc.

Local authorities determine the value to set for a Personal Budget in several ways, one of which is based on the price a local authority can purchase similar care for locally to meet the needs of the individual. This is usually below the cost of providing care. Accepting rates at less than the actual cost is not sustainable, so we balance this out with higher costs quoted to private paying clients. However we work in partnership with local authorities as they provide a high volume of referrals giving a steady business that is regularly paid.

Some of our homes are premium homes where facilities and buildings are modern and purpose-built. Other homes are specialist dementia / complex care homes providing a higher level of care and support for people living with dementia, mental health or complex condition.

We are a family run business where we put our Residents, and their well-being first. We aim to preserve that important personal touch as well as offer high standards of care and a stable, safe environment. We do everything we can to ease that worry for our Residents and their families. So we listen to what people say, adapt constantly and improve what we do.

We place importance on ensuring that our Residents can exercise daily through physical games, adaptive exercises, physiotherapy and external fitness facilitators. Every one of our homes has a dedicated Wellbeing Coordinator to plan regular events and entertainments. Our activities are tailored according to our Residents’ wishes, preferences and hobbies so they can continue to enjoy despite changes to their abilities with the support of our teams. We partner with the local community such as schools, nurseries, churches, and community centres to ensure our Residents can be actively involved and included. We have scheduled weekly group activities as well as themed occasions specific to the calendar month which can include entertainers, sing-alongs, gardening, bake-off challenges, charity events, outings and fetes.

We usually encourage the families of our Residents to get in touch with the local social services six months prior their savings running out as this can take some time to arrange. We work with our Resident’s families to ensure care is continued in the home by giving them advices and directing them to the right path. Unfortunately we cannot apply funding through the local authority on behalf of our Residents, this can only be done by their families.
