entAt Cedar Care Homes, we believe that moving into care should enhance life, not restrict it. For over three decades, we’ve created environments where Residents can maintain their independence while receiving the support they need. Our approach combines professional excellence with genuine warmth, ensuring every Resident feels valued, understood, and supported in living life their way.
Your room is much more than just a bedroom – it’s your personal haven within our home. We understand how important it is to be surrounded by familiar things and to have a space that truly feels like your own. That’s why we encourage Residents to bring personal items and furnishings that tell their story and create that crucial sense of home. Whether you prefer a room with a garden view or one closer to our communal areas, we’ll work with you to find the perfect space that matches your preferences and needs.
Mealtimes at Cedar Care Homes are about more than just nutrition-they’re an opportunity for social connection, enjoyment, and choice. Our talented chefs take pride in creating varied, delicious menus that cater to all tastes and dietary needs, while our flexible approach to dining means Residents can maintain their preferred routines, Whether it’s a formal lunch in our dining room, a casual bite in our café area, or a private meal with family, we ensure every dining experience is something to look forward to.
Just as you would at home, we believe Residents should have complete freedom in how and when they enjoy their meals. Our flexible approach means you can maintain familiar routines while having the opportunity to try new things and share meals with friends and family.
Life at Cedar Care is all about you and how you wish to live your life. Staying active and engaged is vital for wellbeing, but we understand that everyone’s interests and energy levels are different. Our dedicated Wellbeing Teams create varied programmes that are tailored to individual preferences and needs.
We believe in offering opportunities for both stimulation and relaxation, ensuring that each day brings the potential for enjoyment and fulfilment for everyone.
The Whole Home Approach instils the importance of fulfilling Residents’ leisure and lifestyle needs in all staff. Instead of relying solely on the activities team, it involves all staff, from the manager and care staff to the catering and housekeeping teams, to share common interests with Residents.
Each staff member becomes the hobby buddy of the Resident that they share interests with. Hobby buddies spend time with the Residents to enjoy together their hobbies and interests. This results in a whole team collaboration to enhance our Residents’ wellbeing, creating an environment full of social interactions.

Social, inclusive atmosphere across the home
Each Cedar Care home has its own selection of clubs, based on the collective interests of the Residents in that home. Clubs work on projects that are based around the monthly theme or any celebrations that are taking place. This gives the hobby purpose and a finished result to be proud of.
We also have social clubs to enable Residents to bond with like-minded individuals and to stay connected with the community around them.
Resident-led interest groups
Projects tied to monthly themes or seasonal celebrations
Purpose-driven creative and social activities
Our Residents are at the heart of everything we do. We take time to get to know each person as an individual, not only their preferences, but their life history, dreams and goals. Cedar Care created our Dream Maker Scheme to help our Residents achieve their dreams.
Our dedicated staff plan an activity or a gift that will truly enhance an individual’s life. Each Dream Maker is unique to each Resident and personalised to what matters most to the individual.
One-to-one time with each Resident
Focus on life stories, goals and wishes
Activities or gifts tailored to personal dreams
Each experience is completely unique
At Cedar Care Homes, we empower our staff to do and be the best they can at every opportunity. The Believing in the Best Goal was created to empower our Residents to do the same, whether they would like to be able to maintain their current level of ability or start a new hobby.
Our teams will enable them to create a plan to help achieve their goals.
Empowering Residents through personal planning
Support for both maintaining ability or trying new things
Collaborative plans developed with the wellbeing team
Encouragement at every step
Here at Cedar Care Homes, we believe that strong community connections are an essential part of wellbeing. These connections exist not only within our homes through our clubs but also with the wider community.
Our homes maintain strong local links, organising regular outings and welcoming visitors and organisations to keep life varied and interesting.

Cedar Care’s wheelchair-accessible minibus facilitates regular outings into the community. Using our dedicated outing package for each home, Residents can select their preferred venues. These packages have been carefully selected from Residents’ feedback and risk assessments.
During our trips, enjoyment and safety are our top priorities.

Each of our care homes creates daily, weekly and monthly social and leisure schedules that are based on the individual and collective interests of the Residents who live there.
Residents’ ideas are gathered at monthly meetings and tailored to the abilities of the participants. On the home pages you will find links to these schedules for further information.
Life in our homes revolves around your preferences, not ours. We take time to understand your usual routines and support you in maintaining them, adapting our care to fit around your choices rather than asking you to adapt to ours.
Life at Cedar Care Homes is about finding the right balance between maintaining independence and receiving support when needed. We create opportunities for Residents to continue existing interests while perhaps discovering new ones, always respecting individual choices about how to spend time
