Activities and Wellbeing

Living Life to the Fullest

Life at Cedar Care is all about you and how you wish to live your life. Staying active and engaged is vital for wellbeing, but we understand that everyone’s interests and energy levels are different. Our dedicated Wellbeing Teams create varied programmes that are tailored to individual preferences and needs.

We believe in offering opportunities for both stimulation and relaxation, ensuring that each day brings the potential for enjoyment and fulfilment for everyone.

Whole Home Approach

The Whole Home Approach instils the importance of fulfilling Residents’ leisure and lifestyle needs in all staff. Instead of relying solely on the activities team, it involves all staff, from the manager and care staff to the catering and housekeeping teams, to share common interests with Residents.

Each staff member becomes the hobby buddy of the Resident that they share interests with. Hobby buddies spend time with the Residents to enjoy together their hobbies and interests. This results in a whole team collaboration to enhance our Residents’ wellbeing, creating an environment full of social interactions.

  • All staff involved in Resident engagement

  • Shared interests matched between staff and Residents

  • Hobby buddy system for personalised interaction

  • Social, inclusive atmosphere across the home

Clubs

Each Cedar Care home has its own selection of clubs, based on the collective interests of the Residents in that home. Clubs work on projects that are based around the monthly theme or any celebrations that are taking place. This gives the hobby purpose and a finished result to be proud of.

We also have social clubs to enable Residents to bond with like-minded individuals and to stay connected with the community around them.

  • Resident-led interest groups

  • Projects tied to monthly themes or seasonal celebrations

  • Purpose-driven creative and social activities

Dream Maker Scheme

Our Residents are at the heart of everything we do. We take time to get to know each person as an individual, not only their preferences, but their life history, dreams and goals. Cedar Care created our Dream Maker Scheme to help our Residents achieve their dreams.

Our dedicated staff plan an activity or a gift that will truly enhance an individual’s life. Each Dream Maker is unique to each Resident and personalised to what matters most to the individual.
