Physiotherapy

At Cedar Care Homes, we understand that maintaining mobility and independence is of the utmost importance for our Residents’ well-being. Our dedicated physiotherapy service combines professional expertise with person-centred care, helping Residents maintain or improve their physical abilities while supporting their independence and confidence.

Our Approach to Physiotherapy

In some of our homes where a Physiotherapist is based, each of our resident’s freely benefit from their expertise as they are responsible for carrying out an initial mobility assessment and subsequent mobility care plan reviews thereafter.

In all of our homes, regardless of whether there is an on-site Physiotherapist, residents are able to purchase a Premium Physiotherapy Package. These packages are tailored to enable residents to focus on a targeted area requiring a Physiotherapist’s input and recovery plan.

Assessment and Treatment

The journey begins with a thorough assessment of your needs and goals. Our experienced physiotherapists take time to understand not just your physical condition, but your aspirations for mobility and independence. From there, we develop a programme that’s perfectly tailored to you, adjusting our approach as you progress and your needs change.

  • Comprehensive mobility assessments
  • Personalised treatment plans
  • Regular progress reviews

Specialist Support

Every resident’s needs are unique, which is why we offer a wide range of specialist physiotherapy services. Our team has extensive experience in supporting various conditions and rehabilitation needs, ensuring that whatever your situation, we can provide the right support to help you achieve your goals.

We offer targeted physiotherapy for:

  • Post-surgery rehabilitation.
  • Improvement of general mobility.
  • Joint stiffness and mobility.
  • Falls prevention.
  • Balance improvement.
  • Pain management.
  • Muscle strengthening.
  • Stroke rehabilitation.
  • Arthritis management.
  • Neurological conditions.

The abilities of each resident may differ too. For example, cognitive impairments, such as dementia or delirium can play a part in the progress our residents can make. All of our physiotherapists have worked as care assistants, and therefore have a strong understanding of these cognitive factors. As a result they should have a more holistic understanding of your loved one, knowing when they may not be up to participate and when it would be best to take rest and try again later. As our physiotherapists are based in the homes they can ensure that appointments are flexible to our residents’ preferences, needs and presentation.
