Claudine’s 100th Birthday

Today we had yet another big birthday celebration at Cedar Care Homes, Claudine Hastings 100th!

Claudine was born in South Africa. After a 3 week whirlwind romance with her husband Jack (who proposed to her via telegram) they moved to Bombay and India before finally settling in the UK in 1953, where they had their two sons Tony and Colin.

Claudine loved to sing and dance and during the war alongside her two sisters, they would perform to entertain the troops. She also loved to spend time in her garden, play tennis and was a very keen painter.

Today at Larkhall Springs Nursing Home, we had a small gathering of friends, family and residents to enjoy a buffet, some cake and listen to some fantastic songs by Rob Cook. We also had a very special visit from Mayor and Mayoress of Bath to deliver Claudine’s birthday card from the queen!

We would like to thank everyone for coming along and also a big Happy Birthday to Claudine!
